Residential Programs

Evelyn Douglin Center SPIN, provides residential services for Individuals with developmental disabilities twenty four hours a day, three hundred sixty five days a year. Our programs are located in the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens and are person-centered to the Individuals need. Even the most challenged Individuals are given the opportunity to live a productive life and to fully integrate into their communities.

EDCSPIN, residential program provides Medicaid eligible disabled Individuals the opportunity to live and grow in a warm and loving home with the assistance of supportive Staff. EDCSPIN

Staff concentrates their efforts on enhancing the level of self sufficiency of each Individual by providing services designed to help develop the skills needed to increase their Independence, Individualization and Productivity and enhance their awareness of their community and its resources.

EDCSPIN, hires, trains and certifies Direct Care Staff to provide each Individual the greatest opportunity to learn the daily living skills needed to live a more self reliant and fulfilling life. Services are person centered and designed based on the Individuals needs and level of functioning and provided in a manner that encourages growth.

Each home has at least one vehicle which allows the Staff to provide transportation to medical appointments as well as many recreational activities such as Seaport, Museum, Statue of Liberty, etc.

Consumers participate in the planning of their recreational activities which includes vacationing at dude ranches, theme parks, PineGrove, Sprout, etc. An RN is available to the Individual’s twenty-fours a day. Medications are administered Approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP) Staff.

There is a Psychologist/ABSS available to develop behavior support plans and provide counseling as needed and a QMRP who works in conjunction with the Individual, Family, Medicaid Service Coordinator and Interdisciplinary Team to assist the Individual with developing their valued outcomes and fulfilling life dreams.
